OH MY GOSH!

Ok this is NOT an April Fool's joke! Let me tell you about our chain of events the past couple of days...

First of all the excitement that Ben got into school was AWESOME. He got his acceptance letter the other day and I was SO proud of him to hear how great they found Ben to be, and the reasons they had accepted him. I cried I was so proud.

Then yesterday I thought my cat Zzyzx had been mangled by a coyote, and found 12 hours later that she was ALIVE. I was SO relieved! I had cried SO hard!!!

Today we dealt with the people we are having that issue with regarding the deposit we put down on the townhouse in Cedar. After them stressing us out and sending a letter demanding payment for all these stupid things, we saw our lawyer, family friend Shawn. He wrote them a letter of demand and helped us realize what our rights are...we're totally getting our money back! PHEW...

We got back from California today and Ben checked his email to find a job offer from Utah Shakespearean for the whole summer! The pay is for part time, but it is a lot better than our current situation! We were stoked that things were really looking up!!!

WELL the icing on the cake of good fortune just came in the form of a phone call from HAWAII. Seriously. No joke. They just called and said they want a face to face interview with Ben on April 28th. They didn't mention if the flight would be covered or anything...but if Ben were to get this job we'd be making over $100,000 a year. IN HAWAII!!!! So I looked up flights for those days and they are REALLY cheap. I think we're going to go...just to see...just to get a feel for it...wouldn't YOU?!

So now the question is, (and we DO need some advice): Do we go along as planned and go to school for this GREAT program??? Or do we move to Hawaii for a year, hope to extend the school offer and make a lot of money? Work experience or schooling? UGH!!! ANSWER US! We are DEAD serious!!!

That is a hard one...I know Steven would not be where he is today if it were not for school. But to move to hawaii and make lots of mula.....mmmmm.......you do not want to miss an opportunity to live in hawaii but you also don't want to miss the change to go to a great school that only excepts 4 people!!! I say go to hawaii for the interview and then see how you feel afterward!!! This is sooo great that you guys have LOTS of opportunities to choose from!

YAY Im so happy for you two!
Thats neat about hawaii but you have to remember that 100K a year in hawaii isnt really that much. your rent along in Hawaii will be about 2k a month.. its one of the most expensive places to live. But very tempting.. Goodluck in deciding.. that will be a tough one!

Hawaii
that's my vote
because think how much more appealing he will be when he get's back with that experience.
he will be more marketable I think.

You sound like the girl who cried, "coyote"!! Just kidding. Maybe you have special powers and can predict the future? Good luck with your decision. I guess you should do the interview first? Hawaii is beautiful but far away from family & friends. Looks like you are deciding between good things. Don't you hate that????????

thats sweet news...what part of hawaii are you going too? we lived in hawaii on the north shore for a year in the turtle bay resort condos, it was awesome...i would totally recommend it...you should go make a ton of money and then go to school after!
p.s. you do get island fever though after the high of LIVING in HAWAII wears off...good luck with what ever you do!!!

p.s.s.
it is VERY expensive to live there...we just lived in a stuido condo with a loft and it was 1300 a month and food and gas it double what it is here...other advice i would give you is, buy plastic wear not silver cause everything rust fast...dont worry about a nice car cause again rust everywere, pluse a van is perfect so you can take you boards to the beach...and keep everything in the fridge cause like chips and bread ect..get really soggy fast too! ok i think im done with advice! if you need to know anything else let me know!

thats crazy!! I don't know I wished i could live in Hawaii. HOWEVER my cousin lived there for 7 years, and was soooooo glad to leave! she said it was awesome at first but got really old. They could never afford anything, since everything was so expensive. And here is the crasy thing, they had free rent because they were living in her parents house. So they only had to pay utilities and such. So.... I don't know.

Pray about it. But if it was something you could do for a year and come back... why not? ya know? who has an oppritunity to live in Hawaii? but again pray about it.

Miss ya! :)

I think you should go out imediately and purchase some butt floss swim suits his and hers and make it happen! What a little sand in your crack when your livin it up in Hawii and make sure you have a guest bedroom because the Hoopes will be bunkin up! But seriously you have to think of it as only makin $50,000 a year since everything in Hawaii is so freakin expensive and it is so far away! We wouldn't be able to so yours and Bennny's off spring as easily.

Hawaii?! Sounds like a blast. I would go interview just to have an excuse to go to Hawaii. I agree with Ana, he'll be more marketable when he gets back. But where did he get accepted to school?
